About Girnar Nature Safari
Girnar Nature Safari offers visitors an opportunity to explore the Girnar forest ecosystem near Junagadh, Gujarat, through a scheduled open Gypsy safari.
The Girnar forest is known for its varied topography, vegetation and rich biodiversity. Visitors may encounter Asiatic lions, Indian leopards, spotted deer, sambar, crocodiles, civet cats, jungle cats, Indian golden jackals, hyenas and several species of birds.
The safari follows designated wildlife tracks and is accompanied by an eco-guide. Wildlife sightings depend on natural animal movement, weather and environmental conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Each safari is conducted in a scheduled time slot. Visitors must carry their valid e-Permit and original photo identity document and report at the designated safari reception and parking area before the scheduled departure.
Girnar Nature Safari operates seasonally and remains closed from 16 June to 15 October. It may also remain closed during Girnar Parikrama and Mahashivratri Festival according to the applicable calendar.
Safari timings, route allocation, vehicle availability and applicable charges may change according to seasonal, weather or operational conditions.

Safari Shifts & Daily Schedule
Gujarat Forest Department operates three designated safari shifts daily. Please report at Sinh Sadan reception 30 minutes prior to entry.
Explore the Girnar forest during the morning safari period and experience its diverse wildlife, forest landscape and natural surroundings.
Experience the Girnar forest during the afternoon and evening safari period as the forest landscape changes with the falling light.
Seasonal Timing Note: During winter (Nov–Feb), morning shifts start at 06:45 AM due to dawn visibility. During summer (Mar–Jun), afternoon shift shifts to 04:00 PM – 07:00 PM to avoid peak afternoon heat.
How to Book Your Gir Safari Permit Directly
Under Gujarat Forest Department regulations, official e-permits for Gir Jungle Safari and Devalia Safari Park are issued directly to eco-tourists and cannot be sold, resold, or booked on your behalf by any private travel agency. Tourists must register and book their own permits directly on the official state portal.

What Is Allowed & Recommended (Do's)
- ✓Carry your valid Girnar Nature Safari e-Permit during the visit.
- ✓Carry the original photo identity document used during booking.
- ✓Ensure that every registered visitor is present during reporting.
- ✓Reach the designated safari reporting point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled safari.
- ✓Follow the instructions provided by the safari eco-guide.
- ✓Maintain silence and avoid disturbing wildlife.
- ✓Remain inside the Gypsy during the safari unless permitted otherwise.
- ✓Keep the forest clean and do not litter.
- ✓Observe wildlife from a safe distance.
- ✓Use cameras responsibly without disturbing wildlife.
Strictly Prohibited Inside Sanctuary (Don’ts)
- ✕Do not feed, tease, chase or disturb wildlife.
- ✕Do not create loud noise or play music during the safari.
- ✕Do not throw plastic, food or waste inside the forest.
- ✕Do not attempt to approach or touch wild animals.
- ✕Do not leave the Gypsy unless permitted.
- ✕Do not collect plants, flowers, branches or other natural materials.
- ✕Do not attempt to change the allocated safari route.
- ✕Do not bring prohibited items into the safari area.
Terms, Conditions & Policy
All safari bookings are governed by the Wildlife Protection Act (1972) and rules prescribed by the Gujarat Forest Department.
1. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellation and refund conditions are subject to the applicable Girnar Nature Safari e-Permit booking terms. Refund eligibility depends on the cancellation period applicable to the confirmed booking.
2. Original Photo ID Required
All visitors must carry the original photo identity document used during booking. Foreign visitors must carry their original passport. Entry will not be permitted without the required original identity proof.
3. Valid E-Permit Required
A valid Girnar Nature Safari e-Permit is required during reporting and entry. All registered visitors must be present during the reporting process.
4. Reporting & Boarding
Visitors should reach the designated safari reporting point before the scheduled departure time. All registered visitors must be present during reporting.
5. Safari Vehicle & Eco-Guide Charges
The e-Permit does not include the safari Gypsy and eco-guide charges. Applicable vehicle and guide charges are payable separately to the respective service providers.
6. Safari Timing & Operational Changes
Safari timings may change due to seasonal conditions, weather or sudden unavoidable circumstances. The applicable timing and operational instructions for the selected visit date will apply.
